The Monday Five + The Whimsical Brand That's On My Radar
What went live on the blog and what I wore this weekend.
Hey Indigoer,
I’ve been in Atlanta the last few days to celebrate a friend, do an early Father’s Day dinner and just enjoy a good amount of rotting on my couch and binging some TV. I purposefully didn’t make many plans for this quick visit. I just kind of wanted to do nothing. I mostly worked while I watched Grey’s Anatomy on the couch with my minimal plans.
Watching Grey’s from the beginning may be one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while. I stopped watching in 2020. I couldn’t watch Covid news while also watching a show about it. It was too much. And from what I’ve heard, it’s gone downhill since. I’m at the start of season 3 and wow, it’s just such a good show. I remember watching this on my TiVo in my dorm room on my mini TV my freshman year of college. It’s so nostaglic and I love it.
Here’s Your Monday Five…
My Simon Miller Wishlist
I stumbled onto Simon Miller’s website over the weekend and thought to myself “why am I just now learning about this brand?”. I wanted EVERYTHING. The price point is where I’m at when I’m okay to splurge on something nicer, think tops in the $200, dresses in the $300. Lots of great sale items too.
I’m eyeing this white bow back top (it comes in a lot of colorways and also long sleeve). I love that it has a shape to it when I feel like button downs make me feel so massive. These pants are so fun, and this bag is a stunner. Also, this may be the most perfect vacation top if I ever did see one. Shop Simon Miller here →
Best Sundresses Under $150
I got asked in the Indigoer Group Chat (you can join it here on IG) for under $150 sundresses that don’t have plunging necklines or open backs. So, bra friendly, if you will. I found so many good ones that I thought I’d share them here too. See my roundup here. PS, you can always follow along on LTK to see all my shoppable content. Basically anything that goes live on my Instagram is shoppable on the app.
ATL Beauty Products
Every time I come back to ATL I am reminded of the beauty products I left here. While I bring my makeup down, I pretty much just use what’s here for everything else. I had this Dermalogica barrier cream in my medicine cabinet. It’s a great product for those with dry skin, or if you’re currently using a retinol. I like to use it as a night cream. This body wash in the santal bloom scent is in my shower and the smell is SO DAMN GOOD. It’s my favorite. And a much more affordable option than my beloved (albeit very pricy) Necessaire body wash. That’s a special treat kind of purchase. And lastly, the perfume of choice here is the Lake & Skye 11 11 perfume. It has notes of amberwood and white musk, among others, and I’m really into it.
Read Another Lisa Jewell Thriller
This book started off strong, then got slow, then picked up at the end. I finally finished I Found You and enjoyed it for the most part. I also am wondering if I just read more in one sitting would the “slow part” had been shorter. I am really struggling with scrolling over reading, and it’s just an ongoing battle. I a now starting The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager. But honestly, sometimes I need a non-thriller in-between my books so I may pick back up where I left off with the final American Royals. What are you reading these days?
What I Wore This Weekend
While I didn’t have many plans, I did have two outings that required me to get out of my pajamas and properly dressed. I wore this little red dress to dinner with my family. It’s so comfortable and reminds me of the Reformation version that I have but at a fraction of the price. This is a similar version too and even more affordable.
I then wore the above matching Sezane set to a shower and it was so comfortable and cute. I wore it with these old platforms. They’re so old but I love them. A few similar options are these that Taylor Swift wore last weekend, and these at an under $200 price point. Shop the whole look here →
