The Monday Five + The Official Song Of The Summer
What went live on the blog and new items in my closet for summer.
Hey Indigoer,
I had a truly lazy weekend. One I’m not too proud of. It started out strong with dinner in Williamsburg at an incredible Peruvian restaurant with a friend. But thanks to the rain, my Saturday Central Park picnic got canceled and I ended up just being a total bum on the couch.
While I am always down for proper rest, this just didn’t feel like it. I think my mood was off, I scrolled incessently, it wasn’t pretty. True rest days for me don’t look like that. I like more intentional rest days where I maybe go for a walk, cook something delicious, and not just couch rot, you know?
Can’t win them all. I felt more productive on Sunday when I cleaned the apartment and finally tackled unpacking my suitcase. I swore I was only home for a week, but wrong. Home for nearly 2 weeks and hadn’t even touched my suitcase…Feeling like a fresh start this morning and it feels good.
Coming up this week is a lot of social outings. I have a cousin in town, a friend in town, I’m heading to a museum and even a networking event. I’m exhausted just typing that out, but I know it’ll be a fun week.
Here’s Your Monday Five…
Gap Factory Hits
I realized when I shared some NYC summer outfits last week on IG, one of my FAVORITE and go-to outfits last summer was my Gap Factory workout dress. While mine is now sold out, this one is similar. And I’m loving this red one with the white edge. These leopard pull-on shorts are super cute (I have a pair from a different brand and they are so fun to style). I think I’m going to try this yellow midi dress and grab this red sweatshirt (it’s only $18!) since I destroyed my go-to red sweatshirt on my way back from Paris. Don’t ask, I’m still upset about it.
Started A New Book
My friend told me this was her FAVORITE book. We do not have similar taste in books, but it came available on my Libby app, so I figured, why not. It’s called Wellness by Nathan Hill. It’s a long book, and I’m curious if I’ll finish it. But I’m trying to discover new genres and not just reading thrillers and biographies. Have you read this one? Let me know what you’re reading in the comments below.
A Few New Things In My Closet + On Sale Items
Between doing a little sale shopping, and brands sending me a few fun new things to try, I’ve got a couple of great new items for summer. These butter yellow sandals from Margaux are so cute, love the color. I also picked up this red tie front top from Abercrombie, I am all in on this style! I’m trying these Ollie style shorts from Varley. Their fabrics are so insanely soft.
Lastly, a few of my favorite items are now on sale. The paisley jeans above are on sale, my Sezane tote is on sale, and my favorite jean shorts are also on sale here. And Reformation is doing a big sale and this dress style I love is on sale in this really fun seashell print. Shop their entire sale here →
Upgrading My Ice Cubes
I’m not a big ice cube person, but without having a water dispenser in my fridge here in NYC (first world problems), I do miss ice cold water. The tap does a decent job, but lately I’ve just been wanting some ice cubes. There’s something so much more satisfying about small ice cubes so I’m getting this ice cube tray to really upgrade my water, iced coffees and the iced matchas I’ve been making on repeat lately. It’s little things like this that make my life feel a little more elevated.
The Song Of The Summer
I have had Sabrina Carpenter’s new song ‘Manchild’ stuck in my head all weekend long. Just walking around the house saying “stuuupid, or is it slow” non stop. It’s, well, stupid, I guess. It’s addictive this song. I feel like there’s no other song right now that’s giving song of the summer so I’m here to unofficially announce that Manchild is it.
Last Week On an indigo day
One of my favorite things to do in Paris is to have a picnic. Here’s how to have the perfect picnic at the Eiffel Tower, and FAQs I get asked about it. Check it out →
This perfume was a splurge, but it was worth it! Here are a few dupes to try too that are super affordable if you’re not wanting to shell out the money for the real deal. See the review + dupes →
A pop of red is a FAVORITE styling trick of mine. Here’s a bunch of color combinations to try with red to get you out of the usual brown and black combo. See the combinations →
The big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is around the corner. These are the dates to know and why I think it’s worth getting a Nordstrom card to shop it. See the dates →
A day in the life. I loved doing this post, sharing a recent day in my life. With timestamps and photos, here’s how it went. Check it out →
Make each day, an indigo day…
Reminder to make each day, an indigo day. Little things you can do to feel more put-together.
Hope you make each day, an indigo day.
