The Monday Five + A Night Out On The Town
What went live on the blog and the protein hack I'm loving
Hey Indigoer,
Writing this from the couch on a Saturday afternoon while starting Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers. I had such a fun night out last night with a few of my favorite people. Dirty martinis, Hillstone artichoke and spinach dip, and a few more martinis while closing down the cutest cocktail bar. I haven’t had a night out like that in YEARS and it was full of giggles and fun. Just what I needed.
I feel like living in NYC as a late 30-something who doesn’t really drink anymore means that I missed out on those late nights with friends. While I have plenty of social activities on my calendar, there’s something about bonding over cocktails and giggling until 3 in the morning that just connects you to people that a weekend lunch could never do. While I won’t be doing that again anytime soon, I’m so glad to have those memories now.
Here’s Your Monday Five…
The Best Shorts To Wear Under Your Dresses
I have an ENTIRE blog post dedicated to this topic, the best undergarments to wear under your summer dresses. They aren’t too constricting, more for just light smoothing and also security so you aren’t flashing anyone. I recently tried the thighsociety cooling shorts and they were so good I had to add them to the list. I wore them the other day with this little wrap skirt. And thank god I last minute threw them on. As in, I was walking to the subway and realized how windy it was….quickly turned around and threw them on and felt 100x more confident. Who cared if my wrap skirt blew up a bit? I had on my thighsociety shorts. They are super comfy too. These are the ones I have in the 7 inch which I think is a great length for minis. And check out the full blog post with other brands I really love.
Last Day To Get My Guide To NYC For Only $29
I am so excited to have finally launched my guide to NYC. This guide is 75 pages complete with loads of tips for visiting the city, how to get Broadway tickets including lottery ones, 28 neighborhood guides and more. Plus, with both my travel guides, you always get a Google Map list that you just save to your phone. I have over 400 spots saved and it grows almost weekly. Just this past week, I added 4 new amazing spots to it. Two cocktail bars, a restaurant and a new coffee shop with what may have been one of my most favorite coffee drinks to date.
Today is the LAST day to get $10 off to celebrate the launch. Use code INDIGONYC to grab your copy right here. And if you’ve been wanting the Paris guide too, I now offer a bundle for both at just $49. You can shop that here.
What’s In The “Big Beautiful Bill”?
The Big Beautiful Bill has been a hot topic and it is CONFUSING. I always turn to two people when politics overwhelm me and that’s
and . Emily did a rundown of what’s in the bill here and Sharon did her rundown here. From millions losing healthcare, and food security, along with loads of military spending, and a ban on regulating AI for 10 years…I think it’s important to be aware of what’s in this bill and to call your senators to tell them how you feel about it.Emily used to write bills, she’s a lawyer, so I always trust her analysis. She’s a must follow for me and I also subscribe to her Substack here. To stay up to date on all things politics that doesn’t feel like a constant loop of news stories, I always recommend following on social and also her Substack does deep dives into some of the most important stories.
What’s In My Cart
I’ve been doing some window shopping lately and have a couple of carts full of a few things. Here’s what I’ve been eyeing to try. This red maxi linen dress from A&F, along with this matching brown set. And I wish thi s bikini came with tie-sides, but may try it anyway. I am also in need of a good summer bag, something small for dinners and such. Thinking this is the perfect piece. Love that it’s beaded and not woven. Also, these look just like my Jeffrey Campbell sport sandal, but 1/3 of the price and come in a true red and also a navy. Tempted to grab a pair!
A Favorite Protein Hack
I love buffalo chicken dip, and the one at Trader Joe’s is so good. I hate that it barely has any chicken in it. So what I like to do is add a can of chicken to it to up the protein. It bulks it up and still tastes great. I usually eat this with celery sticks and tortilla chips. It’s the perfect salty snack that also has some protein in it.

Love you highlighting the big bullshit bill here, Jess! It's such a nightmare.
A can of chicken??? What on earth is chicken doing in a can?
