3 New Favorite Spots In Paris
A look at what's inside my guide to Paris and 3 of my favorite spots I recently discovered.
One of the things I loved about my most recent trip to Paris was that I went with ALL new friends. Okay, really they are old friends of mine from Atlanta, who now live in NYC. But they are not friends I have ever traveled with before. It’s been really nice to build new friendships in NYC in this new chapter, and especially nice to rekindle friendships from Atlanta. One day we got brunch and we talked about going to Paris (Paris is always somewhere I am trying to go, so that’s that) and it came to fruition a few weeks ago.
While traveling with new people I’ve never explored with it always leaves me with a bit of anxiousness (at least for me, anyone else?). The sort of unknown of how the trip will go, really. But as soon as we hit the ground running to explore, I was instantly at ease. I knew this was going to be an easy and fun trip. A sigh of relief as I plowed through my 2nd croissant in 24 hours.
These friends were so easy to travel with. One was crowned Trip Princess, and I believe all trips should have at least one person who is. Not everyone can be Trip Princess though, and while the crown can be passed around, you wouldn’t get anything done if everyone was in fact, Trip Princess. The other friend is always into restaurants and finding places with a good vibe and great menu. While I on the other hand, am good about scheduling, keeping us on track, getting around and so on. But fun fact about me, I can get PARALYZED by too many decisions when it comes to restaurants.
That’s part of why my month-long stay was so helpful because I just tried everything eventually. But on shorter trips, I tend to slightly panic about where to eat. It’s a very bizarre trip quirk of mine, but it is what it is. I think it has something to do with not wasting a meal on a bad experience and feeling the pressure. Thankfully, my friend Jaime was tuned into the food scene and planned out nearly all of our meals. And all of them were at places I had never been before.
This allowed me to explore new restaurants, and cuisines and get to add all the good ones to my guide to Paris, une journée indigo. So with that, I wanted to share three favorite spots in my Paris guide that are new to me.
